We are searching for a

Marketing Manager, New Business Development – Eastern Europe

Responsibilities:

To grow our business by promoting our standard products and our development and manufacturing services for intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to large and medium sized innovative and generic pharma firms in Eastern Europe. This position reports into the director of New Business Development (NBD) in a global setting. In addition to such direct customer interaction, business analyst tasks will be part of the position, with the targets of preparing new marketing initiatives, exploring new customer segments, preparation of customer pipeline analyses, and evaluation of potential acquisition targets, in close cooperation with the Director of NBD.


The New Business Development Manager’s responsibilities are to include, but not limited to:

Direct marketing tasks

  • Develop new business opportunities (existing/standard products and new/development products) with both innovative and generic pharma firms, especially in Eastern Europe, and use internal resources efficiently to convert these opportunities into successful projects
  • Develop and maintain a current understanding of Archimica’s capabilities and capacity as well as an understanding of the external marketplace (e.g. conditions, trends and competitors)
  • Prepare and deliver new quotations in collaboration with Archimica’s respective technical teams on inquiries from customers
  • Negotiate agreements of sale or purchase orders with customers
  • Nurture and manage projects to the full satisfaction of customers
  • Contribute to the implementation of marketing initiatives, including providing market information, distributing materials, and attending tradeshows
  • Participation in weekly global NBD conference calls for decision on best production site for a new product
Business Analyst tasks (in close cooperation with the Director of NBD)
  • Prepare new marketing initiatives and explore new customer segments by systematic preparation of customer pipeline analyses
  • Evaluate potential acquisition targets

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will have proven experience in new business development, specifically in securing purchase orders or contracts for manufacturing services. A proven track record in developing good customer relationships are of utmost importance. Good relationships to European, especially Eastern European, pharma firms are required.
Archimica seeks a motivated, results-driven, innovative, reliable individual, who is able to meet and even exceed customer expectations.
The candidate should be preferably located at our head office building in Frankfurt.


Candidate Requirements:
  • A degree in science, preferably in synthetic organic chemistry. A PhD would be an advantage
  • Significant pharmaceutical industry knowledge, preferably related to intermediates and APIs
  • Very good relationships to at least three major European pharma firms (innovative or generic), preferably Eastern European firms
  • Business development skills together with Sales and Marketing experience
  • Strong commercial awareness and a service industry mentality
  • The ability to travel, including a valid drivers licence
  • A team player and outstanding relationship-building skills

This position offers an attractive remuneration package, consisting of a competitive base salary plus an attractive bonus program.
